Office: Online Clipart

In keeping with the season, we would like to tell you how to get to a huge range of Christmas clip art to add to your documents you are creating in the next couple of weeks. They could be used to make a special Christmas card for someone, add to your emails or simply add a seasonal flavour to an informal document.

Finding New Clipart

  1. Open Internet Explorer and type in the web address: office.microsoft.com/clipart
  2. You will see a screen headed ClipArt and Media, with a Clip of the Day and a list of Categories below.
  3. There is a search tool at the top of the screen. Leave it to search All Media Types and type Christmas in the next box alongside. Click the Go button to start the search.
  4. You will then be presented with a selection of Christmas clip arts (if that's the right plural) and you can see further pages using the tool at the bottom.
  5. To get a closer look at an image - click it once.
  6. When you find an image you like right-click it and choose to Copy it.
  7. Switch to your destination document and paste the image in.

As you might have guessed, the range of clip art covers many, many different themes, not just Christmas. If you are already prepared for Christmas, you can search for Valentines or Easter images.

Also, you might be aware that looking for clip art in the normal way with Office XP and 2003 finds pictures on the internet, from Microsoft. While all the pictures you find in the normal way will also be found on office.microsoft.com/clipart there is an even wider choice if you use the procdure above.
